The presence of coliforms and E.coli in your water indicate faecal contamination of your supply.  If this is the case the water is considered unsuitable for drinking and under EU regulations needs to be treated.
A UV Sterilization Unit kills harmful bacteria and viruses in water using Ultra Violet light. Unlike chlorine nothing is added to your water and there are no associated smells, tastes or by-products formed.  UV light destroys pathogenic microbes by delivering concentrated amounts of UV (light) energy to the reproductive mechanism of the microbe, preventing the microbe from reproducing.
A UV sterilization unit requires no storage tank, does not remove beneficial minerals and is economical.  All units and installations are guaranteed for five years.  A typical domestic unit is only 14.5" x 2.5" and can be mounted either horizontally or vertically.  If you have problems with intermittent bacterial contamination of your water or have special needs that require the use of bacteria-free water then the UV Sterilization Unit may be what you are looking for.
